FIWARE - Future Internet Core Platform

FIWARE will deliver a novel service infrastructure by building so-called "Generic Enablers" which offer reusable and commonly shared functions. The purpose of these Generic Enablers is to make it easier to develop Future Internet Applications in multiple sectors. This infrastructure will bring significant and quantifiable improvements in performance, reliability, and production costs linked to Internet Applications and hence build a true foundation for the Future Internet.

To achieve this goal, FIWARE will develop open specifications of these Generic Enablers, together with their reference implementation and make them available. FIWARE is the cornerstone of the FIWARE-Programme, a joint initiative by the European Commission. Information about general aspects of this programme and complimentary projects within the same programme can be found here.
