SPES 2020: Software Plattform Embedded Systems 2020

The national project "Software Platform Embedded Systems 2020" was a BMBF-funded research project to develop a methodology for the consistent model-based development of embedded systems.

The development of distributed, increasingly high-performing embedded systems is a considerable scientific and technical challenge. The Innovation Alliance SPES 2020 was aimed at professionalising the development of embedded systems across multiple application domains. For this purpose, an integrated, model-based methodology for the development of embedded systems was developed.

The focus of the innovation alliance was the application domains automation technlogy, automotive, avionics, energy technology, and health care. The developed methodology supports all substantial development disciplines of a model-based development process, starting with model-based requirements engineering, via model-based design, to certification of systems that have been developed using a model-based approach. The foundation of this methodology is a comprehensive, unified modelling theory.

Results:

  • Theory-based approach for the model-based development of embedded systems
  • Integrated, model-based, partially formlised approach for the requirements engineering for embedded systems across multiple layers of abstraction
  • Domain-specific tailoring of concepts, techniques, and methods for the integrated development of embedded systems.
  • Support of the developed approaches through appropriate tools
