Dr. Thorsten Weyer

Thorsten Weyer leitet seit dem Jahre 2010 die Gruppe 'Requirements Engineering und konzeptioneller Entwurf' am Ruhr-Institut für Software-Technology (paluno) an der Universität Duisburg-Essen. In enger Kooperation mit international führenden Industrieunternehmen sowie kleinen und mittelständischen Unternehmen aus dem Hochtechnologiesektor bringt er seit vielen Jahren seine Expertise in die Entwicklung und Erprobung von Methoden für den Entwurf softwareintensiver Systeme ein. Sein aktueller persönlicher Forschungsschwerpunkt liegt im Bereich der Spezifikation und Qualitätssicherung für hochautomatisierte bzw. autonome Cyber-physische Systeme (CPS), die das technologische Fundament vieler Zukunftsszenarien bilden, wie z.B. dem Autonomen Fahren, Intelligente Häuser und Städte, nachhaltige Energiewirtschaft und Umweltschutz sowie im Leitbild „Industrie 4.0“. Thorsten Weyer ist (Co-)Autor von mehr als 80 wissenschaftlichen Veröffentlichungen und verfasste wesentliche Beiträge zu bekannten Lehrbüchern im „Requirements Engineering“. Von Oktober 2019 bis März 2020 war er darüber hinaus Vertretungsprofessor (W3) für praktische Informatik am Institut für Softwaretechnik der Universität Koblenz-Landau. Als ordentliches Mitglied des International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB) und Leiter der IREB Working Group „Requirements Modeling“ nimmt er eine wichtige Position in der internationalen Standardisierung der beruflichen Praxis im Requirements Engineering ein.
