Contact and Directions

Arriving at central station Essen, you use the tram (Stadtbahn) 108 (towards "Altenessen Bf") or 107 (towards "Gelsenkirchen Hbf") to "Viehofer Platz". The tram run every ten minutes in daytime. After ca. four minutes you leave the tram at the station "Viehofer Platz". Take the exit "Stoppenberger Straße". On the left you see the black "Schützenbahn"-Building of the university. Past the house on the right side. Now you are on the Gerlingstraße.

Exit the motorway A 52 from direction Düsseldorf at "Essen-Süd" (Nr. 29). Take the course of the road in direction "Zentrum/Uni". You are now on the road "Richard-Wagner-Straße", which changes to "Helbingstraße". Stay on this road and drive from now on towards "Altenessen/Uni" or "City-Ring". So you get on the "Bernestraße" which changes finally to the road "Schützenbahn". Follow the signs towards "Altenessen", but stay on the "Schützenbahn"-road. You will pass through a tunnel. At the first traffic lights after it, you turn to the right into the "Gerlingstraße".

Leave the A 40 motorway from direction Dortmund/Bochum at exit "Essen-Frillendorf" (Nr. 26). You automatically join the "Frillendorfer Straße" in direction "Bottrop/Uni". Turn right at the second crossroads into "Burggrafenstraße". Follow it and turn left at the second trafficlights into "Gerlingstraße" in direction "Zentrum".

Leave the A40 from Duisburg at exit number 23 "Essen-Zentrum-Ost". Drive towards "Altenessen/Uni" and follow the course of the road ("Bernestraße"), which changes to "Schützenbahn". Follow the signs to "Altenessen" and stay on the "Schützenbahn"-road. You'll pass through a tunnel. At the first traffic lights after it, you turn to the right into the "Gerlingstraße.

Parking

On the left of our building you find a small parking area, secured by a barrier. Please contact the gatekeeper by the intercom. He will grant you access.

You also have the possibility to park at the roadside of Gerlingstraße or Waldthausenstraße. Please have a look on the site plan for that.

From Düsseldorf Airport please take the train S1 (destination "Dortmund Hbf") or "Regionalexpress" (destination "Hamm") to Essen Hauptbahnhof ("Essen Hbf"). The Regionalexpress takes 25 minutes to Essen.

At the airport you can use the "Skytrain" to get from the terminal to the station.

There is also a regular rail-connection from the airport Köln-Bonn to Essen. It takes about 70 minutes.
